Dear Reader

Christmas in the FINE ORANGERY • When Christmas is coming up, Aud turns her wonderful orangery into a Christmas sanctuary where she can enjoy some peace and quiet in the middle of the busy Christmas season in her store Guri Malla. Sitting in the orangery with a cup of tea and a couple of lit candles calms her soul. We’ve shown you Aud’s home before – a place furnished with an amazing mixture of new and old. For the orangery, she has mainly chosen old things that fit perfectly to this rustic room. Here you can find plenty of inspiration on how to dress your greenhouse or orangery for Christmas.

Christmas homes FULL OF VINTAGE • As soon as you step into Monique’s home, you sense the wonderful Christmas atmosphere. Her house has been beautifully decorated with lots of sparkling candles, Christmas greenery and vintage decoration items. When the days turn shorter and darker, Monique can hardly wait to start decorating her home for Christmas. One of her first activities is to make a beautiful decoration for the front door as a nice way of greeting her guests.

Modern OPEN SANDWICHES • In December, making simple dishes is particularly nice. We’ve spent some time in the kitchen experimenting with some of our favorite ingredients. The first time we tasted baked camembert was at the castle Chateau de la Motte Husson where Dick Strawbridge served it. We loved it straight away.

SMALL CHRISTMAS DETAILS

Christmas like in OLDEN DAYS • We’re visiting Hotel Lidenlund in the Danish town of Lemvig again, and this time, the hotel is dressed for Christmas. One of the clearest memories from my childhood is the anticipation of going to the Christmas celebration at this hotel. Entering the big room and seeing the big Christmas tree in the middle of the room was nothing short of magical! We danced around the Christmas tree and sang Christmas songs. Then we were given a bag with a clementine and some Christmas cookies inside, and we enjoyed those delicacies in one of the hotel nooks whilst our parents were having coffee. The room and the big tree are still there, and the new owners are trying to create some new traditions in this beautiful, old hotel.

Christmas at Torp Ekekullen • Welcome to this "torp" which is what you call a hut located in the Swedish countryside. This hut is used as a second home and it belongs to Vibeke and Hans Petter Svenningsen from Norway. The hut is located in a forest in Sweden and Vibeke has dressed it for Christmas in the Scandinavian, nostalgic style.

The Christmas atmosphere AT KOLLERUP GODS • Danish castles, estates and manors offer a very special atmosphere at Christmas. Such historical surroundings contribute to the atmosphere in their own right, and the wonderful stories about Christmas in the olden days are kept alive. Here at the estate of Kollerup Gods, Pia Monique Selchau-Marken makes a virtue of beautifully decorating the fine rooms full of antiques that have been part of the estate for centuries.

Simple decorations with A GREAT EFFECT • At Tine’s house, Danish hygge is optimized leading up to Christmas....
