Dear Reader
With a flair for NOSTALGIA AND CHARM • Back in 2017, Aud and her husband, Kai, from Norway decided to place a bid for a house that they had driven past many times, and this turned into a story about a building oozing of history and charm. During the past seven years, the couple has been working on turning this house, which is more than 100 years old, into a cozy home.
Modern OPEN SANDWICHES • One of my favorites is this caper sauce. You can use it as an accompaniment for many different dishes, including warm meat dishes and fish. In this article, I’ve used it to accompany an open sandwich with roast beef. The other recipes are meat-less and can be served as individual dishes or as beautiful and tasty accompaniments.

In love with Shetland • Meeting inspiring people who follow their heart and live their dreams is so inspiring, and I’d like to share more such stories in the magazine. This time, I want you to meet Misa. I got to know her when she took part in a retreat hosted by Sif and myself. Misa’s journey is a beautiful example of how passion and determination can lead to extraordinary results and a deeper connection with the place that you call your home. I hope that her story will inspire you just as much as it has inspired me.
A town house with HISTORY AND SOUL • When you step into Jacob’s and Annette’s home in the town of Kerteminde, Denmark, you immediately feel the special atmosphere. This house was built in 1777, it’s one of the oldest houses in town and it oozes of history and charm. Jacob and Annette have created a unique home based on their love of recycling and upcycling.
AUTUMN GREENERY throughout the past 15 years • When it comes to gardens and flowers, many elements are used year after year and nothing turns old-fashioned. If you furnish your home in the cozy country style, flowers are a must, and here at the editorial office, we’ve always been quite fond of beautiful flowers in rustic surroundings.
OLD JEWELRY in new ways • When you visit second-hand stores and flea markets, you’ll always come across boxes and showcases full of old jewelry. We love looking through them because they usually contain lots of treasures. You can use your vintage jewelry as it is or in new ways. Finding and recycling pieces of old jewelry can be a fun and creative activity, and on the following pages, we’ll offer you some tips and ideas on how to do that. We’d like to thank Anne Mette from Café Moulés for collecting the jewelry, being our model and providing the setting for this article.
AUTUMN and its golden moments • Welcome, dear autumn! Now it’s finally time to add a bit of warmth and a cozy atmosphere indoors again. At this time of the year, I enjoy making various pumpkin arrangements, both outdoors and indoors. On the following pages, I’ll show you a selection of decorations that you can make with your pumpkins.
HOW TO TRANSFORM A ROOM • Very often, the back corridor is the room that receives the least attention. That’s how it was here at Kærby Mølle, and it took us almost ten years to find the motivation to renovate this room. We’re very happy with the result and we often ask ourselves why we didn’t do it earlier.
Simple and healthy VEGETARIAN FOOD • When I look out my window, I notice it. The first early morning mist. The air is turning cooler and the grass smells of moist moss. Autumn is slowly but surely on its...
